Throughout, their mission has remained the same to promote, support and cultivate the arts and art dialogue in the Tidewater area.

For the 2012 exhibit, TAA chose the theme of The Child in cooperation with the current statewide initiative by the Virginia Commission for the Arts’ Minds Wide Open. This enterprise honors and celebrates children and the arts. The juried exhibit offers a multi-media display of four works each by member artists’ and their interpretation of this theme.
